We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to update not only the software but also the hardware. Some of the updates include:
- A new split loop injection design, allowing for variable volume injections from 1 – 100 μL.

To demonstrate this new functionality, we created a run with multiple injections from a single vial of 0.1 mg/mL melatonin with three different injection volumes, 5 μL, 10 μL, and 15 μL. As you can see the curve has an excellent coefficient of determination, showing that the new split loop design is linear with injection volumes.
2. Updates to the pump software have made retention times of repeat injections tighter.
3. The injection procedure and accuracy of the split loop design allows for very repeatable injection volumes.

Together the injection accuracy and pump speed accuracy have made repeat injections better, making system suitability easier than ever. The above chromatograms are an overlay of 5 individual injections overlaid on one another to calculate system suitability for the analysis of aspartame in diet soft drinks. We’re now able to achieve %RSD of less than 1% on area and retention time repeatability for multiple injections.
4. The ability to scan up to 10 different wavelengths and integrate these peaks.

Having the ability to look at multiple wavelengths in one run will allow for faster development of new methods or the ability to run multiple samples that need different wavelengths to be seen to be run in one batch.
