When you order something you should get everything you need with it, right?

How frustrating is it to order a product and not get everything needed to operate the product?  A toy that your kid is excited to play with, but they open it and there’s no batteries!  What if you ordered a car, you showed up to pick it up, and it had no wheels on it?  And then you found out that the price you were quoted didn’t include wheels, tires, brakes, etc., and that those would be extra.  That would be frustrating, wouldn’t it?

You should expect the same with your lab equipment.  If you order a GC or HPLC, you should get all the components needed to operate that system.  And if you are quoted a price for a GC or HPLC it should include all those components.  This would be especially frustrating if you weren’t very familiar with chromatography systems or were a first time user.
